Melaka was nice and definitely full of museums, though I don't get to visit any thanks to husband who went round and round (don't know actually what he was trying to do.2 hours inside the car and i nearly vomited due to headaches!) and then there's Husayn who kept pestering to go to the zoo but halfway inside the zoo kept pestering to go out of the zoo instead. Oi so confuse!
After doing endless search, we finally settled on staying at the Emperor Hotel. It's right smack in the middle of the town and not far from all the attractions. And best of all, the rate is only RM128 per night with breakfast included!
Not saying that the breakfast was out of this earth spectacular, but to me still okay-lah since I got to eat pancakes!
The hotel's bed was huge and it fits the 4 of us just fine and the room is clean. Only thing I have to complain about Emperor Hotel is I have to go to the ironing room just to iron my clothes since they don't provide irons to hotel guests.
Honestly, I was not too keen on the going to the zoo idea. But since Husayn really wanted it, we just follow his wish. 'Best' of all, we went to the zoo at 1 in the afternoon and it was really hot despite Melaka and Johor being flooded in some areas.
The idea of mingling with animals under the hot sun was starting to look not so good when Husayn kept complaining of his sore throat. Heck I don't even know he has sore throat before and now he has sore throat while strolling inside the zoo!
My little montel one of course did not have a care in the world when she just suddenly fell asleep. We ended up rushing to get out of the zoo because Husayn kept saying his throat hurts. Not a pretty scene especially when you have to walk so so far!
We finally made it to the A'Famosa around 6 something and of course we all sweat buckets when we reached up there! The view is totally worth it but I can't help feeling gayat all over. And dearest Husayn asked me this question " Mama..ni bangunan buruk apa ni? " Hahaha.
He must have hated or scared of this "bangunan buruk" because he kept forcing us to get away from A'Famosa as soon as possible.
Thank goodness for this train because if not he kept grumbling and pestering to go back to the hotel which he adorably kept mispronouncing "HETOL". Hahaha.
And he loves this old fire truck too and kept asking questions that I don't even know the answer. How should I know the function of each of the 'things' of that fire truck! Kids and their questions..heheh
By the way if you're looking for hotel right smack near the A'Famosa and I'm talking about really really near here - go book a room at Aldy Hotel.
Day 1 at Melaka was definitely exhausting that we ended up skipping dinner and reaching hotel at 8pm and by 10pm that night we all fell asleep soundly. Zzzzz.
