Friday morning at Jalan Conlay

The Hari Kraf Kebangsaan was definitely best-lah! Of course best lah when you get to miss the whole Friday morning at office just to attend the Hari Kraf Kebangsaan for shopping! I actually did go to this Hari Kraf thing a few years back when I was frantically searching for wedding favors for my own wedding.

This is my favourite outfit in the textiles area. Kaftan-like outfit with beads thrown everywhere. So soft, so comfy and sooo gorgeous and perfect for the annual dinner! Only drawback is it cost around 1,000++ something!

I also got to pretend painting some batik! Haha..it made me flashback to my school days when I have to do the batik painting during Pendidikan Seni. And being a clumsy like me, I even accidentally 'canting' myself with the hot wax! Haha.

If you're thinking of going to this Hari Kraf, forget it since it's already ended yesterday!

p/s: Selamat Pengantin Baru to Ms Nurmala Mazlan! Really sorry can not make it to the wedding the other day. Semoga berbahagia dan dapat baby cepat-cepat ya!

Oh simple things, where have you gone?

Supposed to be simple questions that have been bugging me lately...

1. I have a tabung full of coins and I wonder if I go to the bank, do I need to separate all the coins accordingly (you know, 20 cents, 50 cents all in their own category) or can I just ask the person at the counter to count the coins instead?

The grossly named farting piggy bank

2. Thank you to some unforeseen circumstances Husayn's 2nd birthday party has been cancelled but I was thinking of celebrating it somewhere like Genting, Malacca..anywhere! Somewhere that will not break the bank and do you know any place that is reasonably priced? And mestila best juga..haha.

3. I have a Maybank Flex visa credit card which I have to pay RM3.95 don't know what fee monthly if I did not make any transaction in that month. Is it any good if I cancel that Flex credit card and change it to Maybank Petronas Credit Card where I will get 5x treat points at Petronas. By the way I only fill my tank with Petronas and nothing else! By the way that Petronas credit card is free for life, which means there's no annual fee, funny hidden fee whatsoever (or so they said lah)

Honest answers are appreciated!

A prom night to remember

Prom night was something that I used to watch in those American movies and never thought of going until I moved back to PJ from Kota Bharu when I was 16. I guess most of the schools in PJ or KL area have their own prom night. I finally attended my prom night when I was 17!

I remember searching frantically for the perfect prom dress at every single malls that I stepped on. Flipping through magazines for some prom advice and searching for inspiration while admiring those beautiful prom dresses in the movies really helped a lot in nailing down the perfect prom dress! I think I bought my dress at KL Plaza (back when Tower Records there were big enough to get lost in 'em!), a gorgeous gold spaghetti strap gown that flow nicely. The dress problem was solved and it was down to my prom shoes. I ended up pairing that dress with a gold strapped heels and I am ready to go.

And then came the night of the prom itself.

I stayed at my best friend, Nita's the day's before so we took care of each other's makeup and everything. It was really fun! Our school prom was held at Palace of the Golden Horses and I think we were made to pay RM80++ to attend that prom. I certainly had so much fun looking at my friends' prom dresses and we even danced the night away to Innuendo who was the guest artiste that night. We did not have a date with anybody or anything but then who cares. It was the perfect night to end our secondary school years.

It was definitely a night to remember!

ps: sorry for not being able to share my prom night's pic. you can guess the reason. haha. By the way pleaseeee don't wear like Drew Barrymore did in Never Been Kissed!

Book worms go book crazy at MPH warehouse sale

It's not often that anybody will thought of having a warehouse sale a stone throw away from my house. I dig warehouse sale once in a while and I certainly hate the non-existence parking, the big crowd and stuffy area and how you have to berebut-rebut like mad (been to Pureen warehouse sale? that's what I encountered..and I was 6 months pregnant..macam nak pengsan rasanya!)

Anyway MPH (yes the bookstore!) was having this warehouse sale last week right behind my house - which is actually at the old Lim Kok Wing Building. So on last sunny Saturday morning, me and my sister went to the warehouse sale - not bothering at all to take a bath first. We just looked decent, so nobody will ever suspect we did not bother showering first! Haha. And we smelled nice anyway (really!).

Below is where the warehouse sale was held. And that is the old Lim Kok Wing building but all the students have moved to Cyberjaya. Used to be quite a happening here a few years back with all those students but the building is currently unoccupied.

By the way did I mention how nice is it to talk from your house to the warehouse sale because it is right smack behind your house? I don't even need to bertekak with my husband forcing him to accompany me to warehouse sale (which he especially despised due to the crowd. Haha)
Found all the Twilight series near the entrance. The below book is Breaking Dawn and it's only RM35. I bought the same one for RM49.90 at MPH Bookstore! But I wish the price hit around RM20..barulah betul betul warehouse! Haha.

The crowd at the warehouse sale. Some of the area in here is quite stuffy due to lack of fans. But I love the book selection especially the kids one! I actually browse through shelf by shelf here which is so satisfying for a book worm like me. Haha. But I really wish they really really bring down the price instead of kurang RM10 or something. Some of the books are also dusty due to the condition of the place I guess. But still, I still love the place because it is so near though I heard a few complaints about the parking.

Buku Ustazah Bahyah pun ada! Bolehlah belajar urutan cakar harimau..kehkeh..
Anyway after 2 hours there I got this for Husayn..
He absolutely loveee the truck+train+rescue book (the left one in the pic). The black colouring book came with crayon and he have been conteng-ing the book and my mother's table and also the dinding! Lovely..hahah. He like the Thomas book too, but not as much as the truck book.

And this one is for me..
Romantika bersama Judith McNaught. Hoho.
..and Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. I was searching for Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook (the movie version was based on this book!) but to no avail. Guess have to search at the bookstore lah pulak.

Oklah tata!

Who used to hug you and buy you new clothes, comb your hair and blow your nose

My mother and her mother (my nenek lah, but we call her nyai because we are Jawa Johor..haha)
Dear Mak,

Today is your 56th birthday! It must have been quite handful to have me as your daughter and then having me and my husband and Husayn stay with you and Abah. And I know I have hurt you a lot before and I am really sorry because sometimes this hard-headed girl need a huge reality check to set things straight. I looove you so much Mak and may Allah blessed you always! I dedicate Yusuf Islam's Your Mother to you because everytime I hear this song I will nearly cry and start reminiscing all the hurts and tears that I have caused you sometimes and this song also make me super thankful to have you as my mother!

Who should I give my love to?
My respect and my honor to
Who should I pay good mind to?
After Allah
And Rasulullah

Comes your mother
Who next? Your mother
Who next? Your mother
And then your father

Cause who used to hold you
And clean you and clothes you
Who used to feed you?
And always be with you
When you were sick
Stay up all night
Holding you tight
That's right no other
Your mother (My mother)

Who should I take good care of?
Giving all my love
Who should I think most of?
After Allah
And Rasulullah

Comes your mother
Who next? Your mother
Who next? Your mother
And then your father

Cause who used to hear you
Before you could talk
Who used to hold you?
Before you could walk
And when you fell who picked you up
Clean your cut
No one but your mother
My mother

Who should I stay right close to?
Listen most to
Never say no to
After Allah
And Rasulullah

Comes your mother
Who next? Your mother
Who next? Your mother
And then your father

Cause who used to hug you
And buy you new clothes
comb your hair
And blow your nose
And when you cry
Who wiped your tears?
Knows your fears
Who really cares?
My mother

Say Alhamdulillah
Thank you Allah
Thank you Allah
For my mother.

Q Buster di Tesco Selayang tidak payah pun tidak apalah

Friday is always heavenly for female government staff because we got to rehat from 12.15pm until 2.45pm! My colleagues and I went to Tesco Selayang where I got to do the following things:

. Finally claim my RM625 rebate - it was so easy, it nearly made me cry thinking about what the heck should I spend it on. Haha.
. Buy an MP3 modulator in Tesco which only cost RM27! Brothers are selling the modulator for RM50++ and a shop in front of Tesco was selling it for 70++ and it's the same thing for Jusco. So getting one at RM27 is certainly a reason to be happy for me.

Anyway as I was queuing to pay, I realised there was only one cashier counter open.
I would've let it go if I did not saw the sign that reads:
Q-Buster : Jika melebihi 2 troli dihadapan anda di kaunter pembayaran, kaunter lain akan dibuka" (see the blue signage above)

I mean they have the sign hanging in every cashier counter exit but on that Friday afternoon there were more than 4 trollies in front of me.

Urgh.Janji tinggal janji (zaman 90 an suka sangat dengan lagu KRU ni oi!) . Please don't make that kind of promise if you are not going to keep it. Anyway the man above who was in front of me asked the cashier. He pointed at the signage and asked "Itu betul ke tu?" The cashier of course senyum senyum kambing. Oh well.

Government should continue giving the road tax cash rebates forever

Money don't grow on trees, but I wish it grows in my purse/ bank accounts!
I am glad I had a conversation yesterday morning with my Husband.

"Bila awak nak claim awak punya rebate utk road tax?"
"Eh ni untuk kereta mana ni?"
"Kereta Persona laaaa"
"Boleh claim rebate ke?"
"Haahlaaa.."

RM625! Haha.

I'm so grateful because the car was bought before the cash rebate is scrapped off - which is this 31 March! So if you still have not claimed your cash rebate, let's attack the nearest post office now!

ps:Did you realise the linkwithin widget that is visible after each post? Sukalah the widget! Sebab ada thumbnail pic. Hehe.

You know you love me, XOXO Gossip Girl

I guiltily admit that I love reading about celebrities. Hollywood or Malaywood I dig them all!

Every Sunday morning, I will routinely picked B*Pop first instead of reading the front page. I have an aunt who love to buy all these local glossy entertainment magazine like Hai, URTV and even Mangga! Everytime I dropped by her house I will without guilt devoured all those magazines and me and my sisters sometimes even berebut who get which one first. Haha. It's not that I really admire those celebrities or something, I guess it's just one sort of amusement.

I mean to see a sexy unknown actress clad in a bikini suit with her cleavage all pop out for the world to see and then has the cheek to say "Saya rasa saya tak seksi", it will really make you smirk in amusement.

I don't buy entertainment magazine though back in school I used to buy The Star Publications' Galaxie and UK entertainment magazine - Smash Hits. Malaysia also used to have this Rolling Stones type of magazine named TONE where they usually cover all those bands stories which I always bought back when I was in university. I even used TONE as one of the source for my thesis when I was in my final year. But unluckily they have discontinued.

Anyway why bother buying magazine when you have the internet? I don't get it why you need to censor a celebrity's face in the newspaper when he/she has been caught in khalwat or something. You can go to the Gossip section in Forum Cari and you will instantly get the answer!

Here's my 3 most favourite gossip page Hollywood or Malaywood alike:

1. The Superficial
The tongue in cheek comments and the way all those Hollywood elites caught sometimes with their pants down are downright funny. And guess what is the tagline for this website? "Because you're ugly" Haha..So aptly titled.

2. Just Jared
A gossip page but not as kejam as The Superficial. One of my favourite source to see the latest pics of Robert Pattinson and the entire New Moon crew. Also have Just Jared Jr for the Disney loving actors.

3. Forum Cari - Gossip
No gossip local online portal will ever beat Forum Cari. Even Vernon from Mr Manager also do post in Forum Cari. Once there was a gossip on Adibah Noor and Adibah Noor herself answered the allegations in the forum. I think this Gossip forum has appeared in a few newspapers. Oh yes, even some not so clever local entertainment reporters has 'steal' some gossip from this Forum.

Oklah XOXO - you know you love me (eh ter-Gossip Girl la pulak..haha)

The tricks of a (nearly) 2-year-old always left me gaping in wonder

Dear Husayn, please grow up and support Manchester United and leave Abah be with his Liverpool ways..haha. It does not matter if we lose 4-1 at Old Trafford, we will still be champions!

I went off to work yesterday because Husband said he'll be sending Husayn.

But my Husband fell asleep until 9 something and which by then Husayn has also fell asleep. So I got a call from my sister that my mother told me not to send Husayn to the babysitter- since he already fell asleep.

And so Husband went off to work and Husayn stayed at home with my mother. But apparently this little guy has some other ideas.

He actually refused to eat and drink any milk. But he did play with his toys and running around the house toting his little umbrella. He did not even eat his lunch. I know that Husayn was down with flu and minor cough, but he usually did not act that way.

My parents were so worried that they called me and asked me to come home immediately. I happily went home at 2.30pm (happy because I can also escape a Briefing that I am supposed to attend at 3.haha) and then when I reached home guess what he did? Of courselah nak nenen. Then I realised he wasn't like seriously sick or something, he was sort of merajuk because we did not send him to the babysitter!

I fed him rice at 5 something and he finished one whole bowl, and at 9pm he ate another round of dinner and finished one whole plate too! I don't know that a guy this small can come out with tricks on avoiding food just because he merajuk. Haha.

ps:By the way I just realised the way Husayn cries is exactly my type of crying when I was so mad at my Husband! Complete with the fake nak muntah trick! Isn't that ironic? Haha.

Slumdog Millionaire vs Australia

Call me outdated but finally I have managed to watch Slumdog Millionaire last week, thanks to a nearby pirated DVD shop. I really heart this shop and best of all the shop is only walking distance from my house! I thought relating Jamal's life to all the answers in Who Wants to be A Millionaire's show is quite a clever and refreshing.

Dev Patel and Anil Kapoor

My favourite scene has to be the part when Salim, Jamal's brother locked Jamal in the toilet so he did not get to see Amitabh Bachan. Jamal who so want to see Amitabh Bachan actually took a dive inside the toilet bowl (mind you this is an outdoor toilet) and at last got to meet his hero. All dirty and smelly covered in shit of course. Kehkeh.
Jamal in the toilet
The covered in shit scene
(peringatan: jika rasa nak muntah tahankan saja ataupun scroll down cepat cepat. haha)

Unlike the usual Hindi movie with all those dancing and singing, this one only limit the singing and dancing to the ending and that's that. I really like this movie and I think it deserves every single Oscar that it won plus so many other awards. I also don't get it why people want to make a fuss of the name Slumdog. Some said the 'dog' is not necessary and downgrading, but then if you think again, there's also hotdog and underdog and it does not even refer to a dog. I mean can you imagine if the movie title is Slum Millionaire? Tak cukup dramatik lah. Haha.
Jamal and long lost love, Latika

By the way speaking of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, I remember watching once the Malaysian version where they have Misha Omar (yes the singer!) on the show. Jalaluddin Hasan, the host asked her something like what do you call a "Duta" in English which of course means an ambassador. But she did not even know what is it. And I thought it is quite embarassing. Hehe. I mean it's not like somebody asked her the history of the nation or something. But then, nervous kot (bersangka baik). Haha.

Oh yes I also watched Australia, and this movie sucks! I got to agree with one review who said that the only thing worth watching in Australia (the movie) is the scenery in that movie. Haha. Too bad, since it could have been much more better.

Waiting for SPM results was something that I will never ever forget

Yesterday was SPM day. I got a sister who got her results yesterday, and a brother who also got his STAM (Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia) yesterday too. And they both passed with flying colours..hurray! Eh alhamdulillah la patutnya..haha.

My brother and a smaller + chubbier version of Husayn

Anyway I remember mine which was around 10 years ago. I remember expecting to fail Add Math since I really sucked at Add Math and I usually don't have the motivation to even make myself understand all those equation. Did you know that before SPM I have never even passed my Add Math exam? Haha..that was how bad is it. My mother taught at the same school as mine but she did not teach me (she did teach my class once for 2 months when I was in Form 4 though!). I got SAP (which equals to flunk) for all my Form 4 exam. During Form 5 I took extra subject which was Perdagangan to avoid that SAP thing and I studied that subject by myself, no tuition whatsoever. Kehkeh.

My favourite subject? English and History of course. I got confused a lot when I learned Science which was why I avoid from going into Science stream at all cost. I also ponteng a lot on the days leading to SPM just because I want to study at home. Haha. In fact a few times I came to school, and then I went back through the back gate at 9am, and this is all done while my mom was at school of course. And I did inform her everytime I want to cabut. Kehkeh.

On SPM day I was a wreck. I cannot imagine how my mother would react, relatives and teachers and friends. But I got over my wreck as soon as I saw my results. Whoopee! I even passed my Add Math though it's not exactly A1, but I was so grateful that I screamed at my Add Math teacher "Teacher, I passed my Add Math!" and then hugged her. The icing on the cake was hearing my father speaking proudly on the phone to some relatives of mine (I was pretending to be asleep! Haha) about my SPM results. And to hear my father praise because of good exam results are so very rare! Haha.

I guess, SPM day was indeed a day to remember. But then I think if you don't do so well, it's not the end of the world either!

ps: i've already filled my car tanks yesterday and the pakistani man at the petrol station helped me! i even confessed to him "boleh tolong isi kan minyak tak? saya tak pandaila sebab tak pernah buat.." haha.

Shut up and drive

This is not mine but mine supposed to be exactly like this

I got bloody nervous when I drive especially when Husayn was screaming and lashing on his seat while I was driving. This happened this morning and I believe many mornings and evenings to come. I also got bloody nervous because I think the fuel is running low this morning and I keep thinking where is the nearest petrol station. Haha. Here's one confession, I have never ever fill a petrol for any car iny my whole life. But I think I have to fill up my car today. And this is driving me even more nervous. That's why I keep fidgeting right now. Urgh!

Did you know when I was still friend with my Husband I used to call him when I want to fill up the car with petrol? And he thought I was flirting with him, which actually was really not and I guess I am that spoiled for I have my driving license for nearly 10 years already and how could I not fill any car's petrol. I got my driving license when I was not even 18 yet. My father nearly bought me his company's car but I sucked at driving manual, so the plan was aborted. I rarely drive but during my university years, I got the courage to borrow a friend's Kancil and drove it around Cyberjaya/Putrajaya area which was also an auto of course. And I drove quite a few times after that.

Guess when was the last time I drive before I got this Persona? It was a CRV and it was around more than 2 years ago. So you see, I have not been driving for more than 2 years already. But alhamdulillah, everything went well so far. So if you see a black Persona around Jalan Duta/ Hartamas/ Damansara/ PJ area, it might be me in there!

ps: anybody know where we can buy the cheapest and finest (nak best tapi murah..haha) mp3 modulator?

Before and after

Jade has apparently tagged me because I ran out of ideas on what to write the other day. Kehkeh. I think tagging people do help to know people better and at least you still have one entry per day! Honestly I can't imagine how Redmummy and Viruspadu did it with various entries per day! Ok here goes..

No.1
Sebelum ada anak
Watching movies every week (sometimes a few times per week!) adalah wajib. My favourite movie watching place would be One Utama or Cineleisure Damansara because the places are quite near my house. To save even more, I was also usually so rajin and cut all those free movie coupons in the newspaper and redeem it for free tickets.

Selepas ada anak
Now I don't even know what is the current ticket price to watch movies these days! I have not watched any movies in any cineplexes for 2 years people! The last movie that I have watched in Cineleisure was Deja Vu, the one that starred Denzel Washington (whose movie I will loyally watch because he did good movies!)

No.2
Sebelum ada anak
I haaate cleaning up little kids' poo. Yes, membersih/mencuci berak tuan-tuan dan puan puan. I have 5 siblings and I have never ever washed any of their poos, well except for one case. My sister was 3 or 4 years old and I was 14 or 15. My parents were not home at the time and she just has to poo at that very moment! So what I did was bring her to the toilet and I washed her butt with the toilet brush. Kehkeh. Now when I think about it I feel so kejam. Hahha. Luckily she did not grow up hating me for that. Kehkeh.

Selepas ada anak
I honestly don't mind cleaning up after Husayn's poo! In fact I usually am the one who cleaned up and washed him and everything, everytime he poo. Mind you this kid sometimes poo up to 4 times a day! No wonder he did not get chubby even though he eats a lot.

No.3
Sebelum ada anak
I once wrote on my Yahoo Messenger's status :
Harap-harap tidak mempunyai anak seperti Shin Chan.

Kanak-kanak sila jangan tiru aksi ini

I enjoyed reading Shin Chan, in fact I thought even though Shin Chan do all this crude jokes, it was really damn funny. I cried with tears of funni-ness when I read Shin Chan sometimes. But to have a kid like Shin Chan? Who called his mother Makcik Punggung Besar? Haha.

Selepas ada anak
Guess what, his favourite word now is Punggung which he pronounced 'Bunggung'. Uh-oh.

No.4
Sebelum ada anak
My favourite channel used to be HBO, Star Movies, E!, MTV, [V] and AXN - yes in that particular order.

Selepas ada anak
Now besides the above channel, ever morning have to switch on Playhouse Disney for Thomas and Friends and Bob and the Builder. Husayn also loves Wonderpets expecially the Malay version in TV9. And I thought the cartoon is really cute too! *Apa yang penting..kerjasama! Goooo..Wonderpets!"

No.5
Sebelum ada anak
I will cry everytime Husband is away. I will cry when Husband went back late. Oh I am so big on tears I am surprised that my eyes are still fine.

Selepas ada anak

Husayn is here, so the crying is getting lesser! And life of course is much more meaningful and I think I understand why they say having your own kid will change your life. I mean when Husayn's sweaty and masam neck is my favourite smell in the whole wide world, then I must have really looove this baby of mine! Oohh..now I miss him already..Kehkeh

Am not going to tag anybody but if you are sometimes on blogger's block mode, go and do all this tag!

The baby masam wrecking the house!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Oh My Dear!

Today is my first day driving to work and I was scared as hell. But I pull through! Haha. So there.

Anyway I went to MyDear warehouse sale on Sunday with one aim - to search for Husayn's car seat. I don't have much dosh to spare to spend on a MaxiCosi which I would gladly buy should the money permits, but the money only permits MyDear (ataupun Sweet cherry!) so I opt for MyDear in the hope that it's a warehouse sale after all. So it should be cheap kan!

We went around 11 plus and the crowd was already building. It was hot and humid!
The place is at Puchong, near the Bandar Bukit Puchong. They have this tent set up in front of the warehouse.
Husayn kept tugging for this one - and it's going for 200+ I think.
But Husayn's mama really love this one! Tolocar in the form of tractor!
Bicycles also got! maybe should buy one for Husayn when he turns 2 next month. But of course not the pink one! Haha.
Husayn was crying because he was afraid of the wind blower (the one which is use to sejukkan the place) . Of all the things to be afraid of and he was afraid of that! Isk.
After a while he fell asleep. He usually fell asleep in Husband's arms, I can't even remember when was the last time he fell asleep in my arms. Come to think of it..maybe never!
We ended up buying this one. RM173 only and quality a whole lot better than the RM219 Sweet Cherry we saw at One Utama. So yes, puas hatilah!
So bye bye all, I am done here!

Hanging out with models are actually fun and not as self conscious inflicting as I thought. Really!

This is me covering event for Malaysian Dreamgirl 2 last Tuesday. Sorry for the kembang kempis, bigger than usual nose..hahah..I must have gone all puffy going up and down the stairs trying to keep up with those models wannabe!

The above are Farah, Maya and Denezia who are also among the 12 for the Malaysian Dreamgirl Season 2. I had a blast time spending the time with those girls and hearing the rants and answering some question myself about my son. apparently the girls are all interested in meeting Husayn! Haha.

From left: Rajvin, Shasya and Acha. The girls are all a friendly bunch - ataupun friendly bunch sebab I am the blogger covering the event? Haha.. Don't knowlah..But honestly they all are really a cool bunch. It would be sad when elimination time comes.

The most interesting question has to come from one of the girls, Dawn who asked me why I rarely put my husband's cafe on this blog. OK I honestly did not realise about that. Hehe..Anyway do visit Malaysian Dream Girl 2 site for my latest take on last Tuesday's event and don't forget to watch the show online!

Sappy romantic movie quotes to cry your heart out

I love love romantic movies! I know it's kind of sappy and corny, but if I am so tired from work and want to relax there's nothing better than watching romantic movies. Watching romantic movies with Husband is something that I haven't been doing for a looong time. Haha. Sana busy sini busy, so end up I usually watched the movies at the confined of my own room with Husayn breastfeeding. But I guess that's ok with me, I mean if I cried while watching the movies, takdelah Husband will kutuk-kutuk. Haha. Anyway here's some of my romantic movies' favourite quotes just to awaken that romance in you! Kehkeh.

1. Twilight
Edward:
That’s what you dream about? Being a monster?
Bella:
I dream about being with you forever.

*Twilight is of course my favourite currently. It is a combination of Romeo and Juliet and seeing the fantasy of your dream man come true. I mean the story of a plain girl meeting an unworldly handsome boy? Who is also rich and have supernatural powers? Thank you Stephenie Meyers for the Twilight Saga!

2. Titanic

Jack Dawson: Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me… it brought me to you. And I’m thankful for that, Rose. I’m thankful. You must do me this honor. You must promise me that you’ll survive. That you won’t give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.
Rose DeWitt Bukater: I promise.
Jack Dawson: Never let go.
Rose DeWitt Bukater: I’ll never let go, Jack. I’ll never let go.

* I was 16 when Titanic came out and I remember watching it a few times at One Utama with my ex! Leonardo DiCaprio was the rage back then and watching the above scene usually left me drenched with tears. Why, oh why Jack Dawson must die! But I really get irritated when I hear the You Jump I jump line though. Haha.

3. 10 Things I hate About You
Kat: I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car, I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big, dumb combat boots and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick — It even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you’re always right. I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh — Even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it that you’re not around. And the fact that you don’t call.
But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you — Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

*This was the first movie that introduced me to Heath Ledger. I thought Julia Stiles was sometimes annoying, but I really love the above lines.

4. When Harry Met Sally

Harry: How about this way? I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

*Everytime the tv aired When Harry Met Sally, I made sure that I tuned in. The story of how man and woman can be platonic friends and Meg Ryan is so cute in this movie! Billy Crystal is really not your handsome-rich-kind of guy but his character is sarcastically funny. And the above line? Sure menangis teresak esak punya!

5. The Notebook
Noah: I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.
*Noah and Allie in The Notebook is spell binding. One of my most favourite romantic movies of all time!

6. Grey's Anatomy

MEREDITH: "Okay, here it is, your choice... it's simple, her or me, and I'm sure she is really great. But Derek, I love you, in a really, really big pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me, choose me, love me."

*I know Grey's Anatomy is a series, but what the heck. I once watched the whole Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy, with heart on the sleeves, crying every episodes, especially the part where Meredith nearly drowned. Mostly I cried because of McDreamy's sad eyes. By the way the above quote is from Season 4. And me here is waiting for the completion of Season 5 so can buy the whole DVD already-lah!

7. Meet Joe Black

"Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say, find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because, the truth is, there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived."

*I watched this one because of Brad Pitt! Haha

8. The Wedding Singer

[Billy Idol (Speaking):] Good afternoon everyone.
We're flying at 26,000 feet, moving
up to thirty thousand feet, and then we've got clear skies
all the way to Las Vegas, and right now we're bringing you some in-flight
entertainment. One of our first-class passengers would like to sing you a song
inspired by one of our coach passengers, and since we let our first-class
passengers do pretty much whatever they want, here he is.

[Robbie Hart (Singing):]
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

*One of my most favourite movie scene when Adam Sandler sang that song inside the flight! And one of the best comeback for Drew Barrymore who before that was slipping into oblivion

9. Ada Apa Dengan Cinta

Perempuan datang atas nama cinta
Bunda pergi karena cinta
Digenangi air racun jingga adalah wajahmu
Seperti bulan lelap tidur dihatimu
Bukan untuknya
Bukan untuk siapa
Tapi untukku
Karena aku ingin kamu
Itu saja

*is the only Indonesian movie that I really watched. And for a lot of times that I cannot really remember how many times. Suka ya sama Rangga dan Cinta!

Go watch those movies and cry your heart out. It will make you feel a whole lot better! At least it does work in my case! Kehkeh.

ps: Bilakah filim Melayu ingin membuat ayat yang meruntun jiwa? Saya masih menunggu..

Apabila tak ada idea, buatlah random updates dan harap-harap ada yang membaca

Some random updates:

1. I wear this to work today. And I keep getting irritated because the tudung keep senget-senget here and there. Do you know where we can buy the thing we the tudung will look at least presentable. I thought I read somewhere kiwi starch ke corn starch..don't knowlah. Urgh.

2. I went to Malaysian Dreamgirl's event 2 days ago and one of the girls asked me " Why you rarely put your husband's face in your blog ya?" OK so here it is.
Husband - fuming like always because I took his pic in the car this morning.
With the flash on.
And while the car stopped at traffic light.

Haha. But I have mastered the art of handling his fuming and garang looks. Which means I just IGNORE it. Kehkeh.

3. I still haven't watched Slumdog Millionaire.

4. I still haven't get my car

5. I am going to launch The Supermummy Amazing Blogger Award next month. And the winner could be you, you, or you! Still pening with the sponsors. And trying to search for more. SO please help me!

6. Saya juga semakin banyak kerja di pejabat tapi masih mencuri masa berblog. Tapi kerja saya masih siap, doh!

Eh bila cakap doh tiba-tiba teringat pengalaman semasa di universiti apabila semua orang suka berkata "lek lek lu..sap kok lu.." iaitu yang bermaksud rilek rilek dulu, hisap rokok dulu. Kehkeh. Saya tidaklah hisap rokok (namun begitu saya mengaku pernah menghisap shisha sekali sahaja. Tapi adakah itu dikira? Kehkeh) tetapi selalu dikelilingi orang-orang yang menghisap rokok dan akhirnya juga kahwin dengan perokok tetapi amaran untuk Husayn:
JANGAN BERANI BERANI NAK HISAP ROKOK YA!

Diharap saya tidak mati akibat penyakit kanser paru-paru. Eh tau tak, kat US ada orang mati kena kanser paru-paru sebab hisap rokok.

Tapi last-last sekarang dah rojak pulak. Haha. Diharap anda tidak bosan ya. Sebenarnya ini adalah menggambarkan kepala saya sangat berserabut. Oklah.

I want to be bergetah like Ibu Halimah too when I reach the 6-0!

In 2 years I am going hit the big 3-0 which is thirty and which is dreadful for me because it sounds old.But then the fab girls in Sex and the City are all 40 plus and they still look marvellous! I know I cannot stop aging and the numbers from rolling forward, but I guess I can cheat like the others and guzzle myself with all those anti aging supplement and look young forever! Well unless you are Edward Cullen who apparently stay 17 forever, I guess that is the only choice you have.

So now for a start, and preparation before I hit the big 30, I am starting with Jamu Mak Dara. Have you seen the figure of Ibu Halimah, the founder of Jamu Mak Dara? Gilalah! I bought the serbuk Jamu Mak Dara from this online shop (and this shop charge nothing at all for shipping! Hurray!) and have been consuming it for nearly one month already. I honestly don't know if there is any difference whether I take this one or not, but I notice I urinated more frequently now. Maybe due to the amount of water that I have been crazily consuming to avoid the panas-ness of the jamu. Kehkeh. In 30 years time I want to look as fit and bergetah like Ibu Halimah too! Haha.

Inilah Ibu Halimah bersama bunga

Now I am searching for something that will be good for the skin jugak, some sort of supplementlah. I used to consume the Redoxon Vitamin C coupled with Natopherol for Vitamin E, but have since stopped because the clinic at my office is not giving that one for free anymore (I blame the recession!). But if you know or are currently consuming something that is good for your skin do share ya..Janganlah rahsia-rahsia. Saya pun nak cantik juga! Haha.

ps: I nearly got hit by an Avanza this morning as I opened the car door in front of the office. Tapi takdelah dekat sangat pun, come to think about it. Driver Avanza tu pun satu mengada nak berhenti nak marah-marah pulak. I was in moody but not in confrontational mood so I just said sorry and walked off. But Husband tak puas hati agaknya, he honk the guy back and opened the tingkap and then shouted what lah I don't know at that Avanza driver. I think they continued having a shouting match in front of my office but I don't know the ending since I am safely tucked inside the elevator. Nasib baik. Haha.

Rihanna is so way better off without Chris Brown but what the hell has been thinking???!!?

Rihanna and Chris Brown is back together.

What in the world has she been thinking? Urgh! She should instead pretend to be baik with Chris Brown and then during the quiet of the night, slip off quietly and do a Lorena Bobbitt and slash off the guy's *toot*. Kehkeh..Cruel I know, but that's what you deserve for hitting a girl!

Haha. Anyway sorry for the short entry. On a leave today. Ciao!

Toy story

I love watching the transformation on Husayn's face as soon as we enter Toys r'us or any other toys section or shop for that matter. His curious eyes will look here and there, but as soon as we step into the toys shop his eyes will go all light up and the excited smile will slowly form onto his face and the excited shouts will start.

Now I know why most kids that I saw exiting from Toy r' us are either screaming, crying or shouting. Toys shop really will do that to you and your kids. No wonder my parents rarely bring me to toys shop when I was a kid.
Just for the heck of it, I experimented by dragging Husayn to the girls' toys section where there are the Barbies and dollhouses. And he did not even bother to touch all those nicely arranges dolls. He totally ignored it!

But as soon as he saw the cars/trucks/trains he will run amok and sekejap "huiyoo!" or "yea! yea!", or even "mama..lori besar!" or "huiyoo..thomas!", I thought it was really ironic. Then he will start picking the toys and rearranging it, or he will scream "mama..bawak!" and dragged one of the toys for me to bring along and buy of course, only for me to realise "apa ni..lori kecik tapi harga beratus ratus!". I usually spent most of my time running (and half screaming of course) after him because he will go crazy checking out all the toys.

Anyway unsurprisingly, Husayn did scream/kick/cry (not exactly in that particular order..haha) as soon as we exit the toys shop since his mother is too kedekut to buy any Toys r'us toys, well not until he can properly take care of all his toys and not seksa it like the current ones. Kehkeh.
