Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!

The above pic is the picture of me and my sister posing with our duit raya which was way back in 2005. Yes, I was 24 and still single at the time and already working, but I still got duit raya, which of course is perfectly fine by me! This year though is completely different. It's Husayn's turn to get duit raya but hey you can't never tell if I ever going to get duit raya again this year! Haha. Anyway, the first time I celebrated raya with Husband at my kampung in Batu Pahat, both of us received duit raya from my parents, my nyai (which means grandmother. Since we are totally Jawa people, we call our granny Nyai), uncles and aunties. It caught Husband by surprise since the last time he received duit raya was back during his school days. Last year, we celebrated Raya at Husband side at Taiping, so we don't receive any. But this year, we are going back to my kampung again! I am so so excited! But of course we are still going back to Taiping before Raya.

Since I did not make any cards, I would like to wish all Muslim Malaysian Supermummy readers, followers ( ada ke,haha), affiliates and everybody who accidentally came into this website, a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Maaf Zahir Batin! I also would like to thank all of you for actually take your time reading this blog of mine! It has been a pleasure knowing you all after this months and hope you have a safe journey back to your kampung!

I'll be on leave until 6 October and should be back after that. See you all later!

Of Traffic Summons and the agony of actually paying for it!

Out of curiosity I went to this website to check my husband traffic summonses and this is what I found:
He has 4 unpaid summonses that dated way back to 2002! Good thing the car is registered under my name so every time we renew road tax there are no problems at all. The above pic is only for PDRM traffic summonses. He has this collection of summonses from MBPJ that he always ignored, and the thing about MBPJ (Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya) is they will forward the letter to the car owner, who in this case is mine, which due to this, I got a little pissed off.

But the thing about MBPJ is they simply summon people without checking. Like my father's case. My father parked his car in front of our house and since our house is quite near all this shoplots you will find the parking is quite full along the stretchway in front of our house. We have to put this notice "The car belongs to house....". And the MBPJ has accidentally thrice gave out summonses to my father for parking in front of our own house! How irritating is that! I mean once is understandable but thrice is certainly unforgiven.

And so the moral of this entry is go pay your traffic summonses today before police came knocking at your door. Anyway I told husband that if the police ever caught him for not paying those 4 summonses I am not going to bail him out. How cruel is that, haha!

Husayn's hair cut

Husayn had a haircut on Saturday! Yay! At last! I could not stand seeing those fringe got into his eyes and how serabai he look everytime he was playing and furthermore my boy is also prone to sweat! So on a fine Saturday morning I decided to take matters into my hands, and cut his hair myself! It was kind of tricky trying to cut his hair since he just cannot sit still, so what I did was put him into his tub and cut his hair while he was playing in the tub. Even then he kept crying "nanak! nanak!" while putting his hands onto his hair.

And so this is the results. Not bad, I thought and I forced everyone around me to think the same too. Haha. After having his bath, he went off to play his toys, which by the way is an assortment of cars, lorries and bikes which have been slightly modified by him - they are either without the wheels, nearly broke into two pieces and so forth.
These are some of his toys. Note the motor bike's missing front tyre. Haha. For lunch that day I made him some rice with hotdogs, fried chicken and veggie. But guess what, after a few suap, he refused to eat and continued playing. I persuaded him, forced him, ran after him around the house, but everytime the food was in his mouth he will simply play with it and the food ended up on the floor.
So what did I do? I just put the rice away for a while and waited until one hour or so, and then since he still did not want to consume it, I ended up giving the whole thing to the cats behind our house.

The above pic is his reaction when I tried to catch him to give him the rice.
And also this. Ahh..this boy really needs some good spanking..haha

By the way did you read about the milk scare from China? I was quite worried, but Dutch Lady has this press statement on their site:

Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad is very concerned about the tainted milk problem in China.

Dutch Lady Malaysia wants to assure all its consumers in Malaysia that Dutch Lady¡¯s full range of products for various age groups, ranging from Infant Formula to powders and liquid are safe for consumption and free from melamine contamination.

Milk products from Dutch Lady sold in Malaysia use local fresh milk or milk powder sourced from countries like the Netherlands and New Zealand.

As a precaution, in Singapore and Hong Kong, Dutch Lady affiliate companies have initiated a recall of some milk products that were sourced from China. These products are not for sale in Malaysia.

We wish to emphasize that in Malaysia, no Dutch Lady products are sourced from China, and that all Dutch Lady products are safe for consumption.

Read more all about it here

God knows what else is in all this infant milk, so I guess as a precaution do read the labels (though I'm not sure whether it helps a lot) and well, the best solution is of course breastfeeding!

The comot one with Chocolate Oreo Muffins

Sunday was spent baking in the kitchen! Well nothing fancy, I made chocolate oreo muffins because my previous muffins did not have this cracking effect! Anyway I just love to experiment baking new recipe (when I have the mood, that's it) and since I sucks at baking cookies, my only choices are only muffins and cakes I guess. Hehe. I was baking peacefully in the kitchen, but look who suddenly woke up from his sleep and went straight into the kitchen!

I was so tired that I don't have the energy to make Husayn go out of the kitchen. And somehow he found a Kit Kat chocolate and ate it by himself. Look at the comot face!
That is basically the view of my mother's kitchen while I was baking. Husayn kept playing with the tudung saji and he used the spoon and then said to me "mak! cak!" which means mak, masak. Somehow Husayn love to pretend that he is cooking. He will take his little mangkuk and placed all his biscuits inside it and the crumbled it to pieces using his head. Then, he will take a spoon and pretend that he is cooking. Lastly he will bang the mangkuk using the spoon loudly and pour all the mangkuk's contents on the floor, which is my least favourite part - because I have to clean everything up afterwards! Haha.

This is my muffins, and look I've succesfully created the crack look! I was so happy! The thing is I was fasting, though as tempting it is to taste the muffins, I just smelled it.
If you are interested to try the muffin yourself, here's the recipe:

Chocolate Oreo Muffins

90 g butter (melted)
2½ cups (375 g) self raising flour
½ cup (50 g) cocoa powder
¾ cup (165 g) castor sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 cups (330 ml) milk
¾ cup (130 g) chopped white chocolate
½ cup (90 g) chopped milk chocolate
Oreo cookies coarsely chopped (optional)

Mix all wet & dry ingredients in a bowl until incorporated. Do not overmix.
Spoon batter into muffin cups & bake for 25 minutes in a hot oven (250 degree C).

I tasted it last night and it wasn't that sweet. So if I were to do it again I will add a little bit more sugar.

And guess who is at hand to try those muffins first? No other than Husayn of course. A while after tasting the muffins, he crumbled it all over the floor!

And look at that face!

And this one!

My advice: don't start baking when your husband is sleeping and when your kids are awake!

Raya card from Mama Amie

Just got this cute Raya card from Mama Amie..Thank you so much! Insya allah I will create my own kad raya to be published next week..or if I am not rajin enough maybe I will make a karangan entry like usual..hahah..Going back now..happy berbuka puasa to all my fellow muslim friends!

The little boy is growing up

It's been a few entries since I last blogged about Husayn. Anyway he is officially 17 months old ++ now and getting more aggressive. Everytime my husband is driving, he will scream "Mintak! Mintak!" because he want to play with the car stering.

Everytime Husband is going outside the house to smoke, he will cry because he want to play outside the house too. I don't mind if he cry but the thing is he will scream his heart out as if I dera him or anything. Haha. He has also caused some damages to the kitchen utensils like the senduk which he kept banging into the wall. The senduk are either broke into two or have some ugly marks on it .

Oh yes, look at that cheeky smiling face. He is 10kg currently and I was having a hard time trying to weight him at the clinic the other day. I ended up holding him up on the scale and then the nurse weight me (while he was kicking and screaming at the nurse because the nurse was the one who hold him!), and I ended up nearly fainted because of my rising weight (haha, literally of course!). And he also love Youtube! See that pic up there with the pc behind him. Anybody who sit at the pc will have a hard time concentrating with him beside, screaming Bob! Bob!..which means he wants to watch Bob the Builder. My father who usually at the pc will say "Bob tengah tido la.." and then this pentol (pentol means naughty in Jawa, and yes I am one!) will reply back "wa wa!" which means he want to watch lorry instead.

And he love to drink anything within his reach too! Current favourite is of course plain water, tea, vitagen and Milo. Even when the drink is already finished he will act as if he is still drinking just like the above picture. Oh, and the above baju is also his favourite pair because it has Ultraman on it. Husband usually ask him "gaya Ultraman macam mana?" and he will make Ultraman-style complete with yeah! I guess the Ultraman-loving blood runs in our family. Haha.

There's also the car. He loves car, lorry, bike, bicycle or anything that is moving. He will call a construction site, big big machine Bob and he loves to play with tolo car's wheel. And when he is angry or try to tunjuk perasaan he will throw everything away which I think maybe is my fault because when I was pregnant with Husayn I usually will do the same thing to my Husband and mengamuk endlessly. Yes, I am guilty of that. But then I also blame Husband because he always make me lose my temper during pregnancy.

To Husayn, it has been a great experience watching you from the scanning monitor as besar as a kacang and now you are big enough to pinch mummy and scream "mak! mak!" everytime he saw me praying or I am out of his sight. Mummy loves you Husayn Zharief! May you grow up to be a beriman, wonderful and of course handsome person (that's why I name him Husayn by the way..Husayn=handsome..get it? Hahaha) and rich enough to sponsor mummy and daddy travel the world! Kehkeh. Muah! Muah!

Win any contest lately?

When was the last time you win any contest? Yours truly really love to enter all this contest thingy, but somehow winning always eludes me, which basically means I rarely win! Haha. I used to enter contest using my name and Husband's but usually Husband is the one who will win something though the slogan and all the efforts are purely mine! Since having Husayn I was so bersemangat to enter all this baby contest, but somehow my son usually refuse to smile properly in front of the camera which take all those semangat away. Here's a few types of contest that I have stumbled upon:

The slogan contest
My preferred method compared to the who-send-the-most-entries method. Though it took times to create a winning slogan, sometimes it really worth it! But most of the times I don't even know what is the required winning slogan. I mean slogans are subjective matter. Sometimes you might not agree what other people deemed is good. My last winning slogan that I can remember is for The Star Contest. I got tickets to see Alicia Keys, Blue and a group of chicks who play violin (which I cannot remember their name..was it Bond?*garu kepala*), and that was like aeons ago! I dream of winning cash, car, house or even free holiday trip! Hopefully someday!

The SMS contest
I've never tried this one before, and not intent on trying anyway. I thought it has been fatwa as haram to Muslim, isn't it? Anyway to win an SMS contest it need a lot of hard work and invest loads of money too!

The who-send-the-most-entry contest
I hate this one because who send most entry means you need to attach it with proof of purchase. So you have to buy a lot of this stuff in order to qualify for the contest. Sometimes I wonder how much really do people spend to win this kind of contest. One example is the Dutch Lady Spread the Goodness of Milk Contest. I wonder how much Dutch Lady did I need to consume in order to win this contest, or are you willing to spend a few thousand buying milk and then pour it down the drain just to cut the proof of purchase in order to win RM50,000.

The creative signature contest
I've sent a few entries to a few contest for this category, but never had any luck so far. But a friend of Husband who work in an architectural company said his colleagues won a lot of contest in this category. Maybe because they are creative and maybe because they are a group of architect and architect wannabes who have all the tools and the colours at their office to create a heck of a creative signature. But whatever it is I really envy them!

And last but not least..

The scratch and win contest
never did it but have been approached a few times and not intent of doing it anyway and if you ever been approached by this people just say good bye and run!

Currently for your info Proton is having this Namakan Proton MPV contest. We, Malaysian got to name our very own national MPV ! And what's more interesting, you got to win the MPV if your chosen name is selected and you got to be famous! I mean how cool it would be to see your very own idea as the name of the Proton MPV! It does not matter if other people don't like it, you just have to make those people at Proton love your idea! Haha. So start cracking ideas and enter today!

Good luck!

Prevent early, go pap smear!

An acquaintance of mine back in MMU died of cervical cancer a few weeks ago. She was 27,married but with no kids. I rarely heard about her right after we graduated, I mean it's not as if we are close or anything during my university days. But she's in my batch so yes, we know each other. I accidentally bumped into one of arwah's close friend during my Raya shopping spree along Jalan TAR.

She informed me that arwah found out about her cancer when she was already in Stage IV, which is supposedly final stage of cancer. I could not imagine what it must be like. She was bleeding at first and she thought that she was miscarriage or something, so she went to the doctor to check. And somehow the miscarriage is not miscarriage after all, it is a stage IV cervical cancer! She went into operation removing her womb, underwent chemotheraphy, but I guess Allah loves her more. During her final days, arwah's friend told me that arwah could not even recalled that she is married and has a husband due to all the drugs that is pumped into her body.
I have no idea what caused her cancer but with cervical cancer, I think it is curable if it is found out early, which means pap smear need to be done regularly if you are a sexually active person! And so the question is:

Have you done your pap smear?

Well, I still have not because I was scared of the pain of having this thing inserted into my vagina!
Haha, I mean I was crying when doctor tried check my opening during my labour and nurses have to hold my legs to keep my legs still for vaginal exam. And you guess how would I react if I do pap smear? But anyway, after hearing about arwah's story I pray I will have the courage to go to a pap smear test very very soon. If you have done your pap smear do share with me here. I mean which is more painful? The pap smear or the checking-how-many-cm-are-you-now vaginal exam? And by the way is the above pic really the speculum that they used for pap smear test? I got the pic from the internet so I am not really sure.

Attack of the Horribbly-Faced Apple and Cinnamon Muffins!

Today is Monday and coming to office is such a drag. Look at my timetable below and you will understand why:

2.00am: went to sleep after watching Jennifer Aniston's Picture Perfect
5.00am: woke up for sahur
5.20am: reciting the Quran
5.45am: Husayn woke up, has to breastfeed him to sleep. Abandon my initial plan to do
my Subuh prayer after reciting the Quran
6.20am: Grudgingly woke up and sigh because it is Monday again! Went straight to the
bathroom for morning bath
6.35am: Did my Subuh prayer at last!
6.45am: Went to the kitchen to boil some water for Husayn's morning bath.
6.50am: Woke Husayn up and he as usual did a little bit of crying fit. Took him
downstairs and continued breastfeeding him. Persuaded him to go take a bath.
7.00am: Husayn has a quick warm morning bath. He was fully awake now and happily
playing with the water
7.15am: Husband came back from mosque and I finished dressing up Husayn.Rushed
upstairs to finish dressing up for myself
7.30am: Said bye bye to my father and off we go to my auntie aka Husayn's babysitter
house at Damansara Utama
7.45am: Arrived at Damansara Utama and next destination is my office. Grumbled all
the way because of the jam.Argh Monday is such a drag!
7.59am: Luckily arrived at the office one minute before time!

And now only I can breathe a sigh of relief. Haha. Anyway yesterday I managed to bake my first Apple and Cinnamon Muffins! It taste nice and fluffy but I don't know why the top does not naik properly. I mean I want my muffins to look like those gorgeous muffins that I saw on the web. Anyway if you want to see how ugly it is here it is..

The Horribly-Faced Apple and Cinnamon Muffins!

I just love love the smell of the cinnamons and tell you what, this muffins really came in handy for Husayn's breakfast!

On a different note, guess what I just realised I won RM50 from Lilcaliph.com! Go check their blog at Cotton Pumpkins for the results to see if you are one of them! And to all lovely Malaysian Supermummy readers, thank you for clicking the Lil Caliph banner! Suddenly today does not seem like a drag at all! Hihi.

The Irfan Khairi inspired Friday

Did you put aside a bunch of money for your child? I did, though the amount seem so little, I guess it is better than nothing. I put aside RM50 per month under his Tabung Haji account. Sometimes I feel guilty because Husayn is an only child and I am suppose to save more for him but I guess I have to clear all my pile of debts first then it will be more saving for him. And my target? Yes RM50 does looks pittance but I do have target, people! Haha. My target is RM1000 per year. If it is more than RM1000 then it is better! So how could I achieve my target if I only put aside RM50 per month you ask? I mean I will only have RM600 if I put that much into Husayn's account. Well you know the money that kids sometimes get when they visit their elderly? Yes, I am stashing away those too into his account and of course the duit raya! I really hope that I will achieve my target this year because then I will feel good about myself! Haha..

One thing that I regret of not doing is saving some cash for myself during my university years. Do you remember all those loans and scholarships money that you receive? I myself receive loan from Telekom. Telekom is cool because my loan is suppose to be RM59k something and I only need to pay back RM17k++. And even with that reduced amount, I am so reluctant to part away with RM300 every month to pay that loan! Back to those money in university years, I wish I've been more prudent and not shop away every time I receive those money, then I will be able to have my own car and not be too dependent on Husband who seems always late to send me and pick me up from office! Oh well, I guess you cannot change what you have done and all you have is today. So, after reading Irfan Khairi's website on money saving tips, I just feel so inspired! I mean he is a millionaire at 25 years old, and I am 27 years old who only save RM50 per month for my child! How sad is that! One of my favourite saving tips is this:

Apabila berbelanja, belanja hanya duit ringgit sahaja. Duit sen, jangan dibelanjakan… simpan dalam tabung! Kira menabung la…

Maksudnya, kalau beli majalah Rm6.50, bayar duit Rm10 merah… kedai pulangkan RM3 duit kertas and 50sen duit syiling…

Jadi, gunakan RM1 duit kertas…

And so I guess it's time to save away for rainy day, and keep a tight budget for me!

Alhamdulillah for a good day

I am back in the office today after two days of gruelling exams. It felt so good to come in the office finishing my undang2 kerajaan exam, and sleepless nights taking care of Husayn who is down with fever again, and then seeing this on my table:

See the word LULUS? Well, that's all I need. I pass my Exam Jabatan! Alhamdulillah. I'm on my way for my confirmation which is quite a long and strenuous journey but I hope it will be worth it. Now there's another 2 exams that I need to know the results and hopefully, I'll pass that one too.

Another thing that light up my day today is I actually can access Blogspot from my office workstation again! I blame it on the IT people who suddenly block all access to Blogspot last Monday. I understand if they are blocking Yahoo Messenger or Youtube but Blogspot? That is just too much! I was really down on Monday because of this and thinking what do I do if I want to pass my time browsing other people's blogs which are mostly hosted in Blogspot? I mean I could not even open my own blog! Luckily the powers that be somehow restore it and now everybody in this office can happily Blogspot-ting again! Alhamdulillah for that, though I am not really sure for how long. Actually there are a few sites here that are blocked at my office.

Here are some that I remember:
1. YouTube (they said too many people streaming will result in slower internet connection. after all we are sharing our connection with the public who accessed internet from here)
2. Fotopages (don't know why they blocked this, but flickr are still accessible though)
3. Friendster (too many people spend too much tiem on Friendster they claim, but Facebook and Tagged can still be accessed)
4. Any types of instant messenger (I love my yahoo messenger because it keeps me connected with my friends, but I guess I only have to keep my YM at home)
5. TV3 (no watching tv at the office, please..haha)
6. and any sites that have word celebrity it seems ( I tried to open celebritybabies site but was blocked, thanks goodness for the mushrooming of celebrity related website to feed my hunger for gossips..haha)

If you suffer the same thing like me, then let's frown together. Haha, but the existence of proxy websites help in viewing this so-called block websites. Just type in proxy in your google and you will see a lots of proxy websites to help you access the blocked websites. Hehe. Well, unless they block this proxy websites too!

Grey's Anatomy is my cup of tea!

The full cast of Grey's Anatomy

Don't you just love Grey's Anatomy? It's just my favourite show on tv! But believe it or not I've never really watched Grey's Anatomy on tv. My first Grey's Anatomy was on a pirated dvd! Haha. Anyway all my sisters love the show and they usually watched it on tv, but me being totally clueless about tv shows and wondering what the buzz is all about McDreamy just dismissed it and wondering why do really love the show so much. And then the answer came on one fine day when I was really bored and finding something to do while breastfeeding Husayn I decided to watch Grey's Anatomy Season 3 DVD (yes it is pirated, so I am guilty of that, but don't we all? Hehe) And from then I was hooked to the show!

No, it's not because of McDreamy. I mean I just love all the characters! It's funny, sometimes heart wrenching, maybe even thought provoking but at the end of the day Grey's Anatomy is just a good tv show! You don't need to have a background on medic to love it, all you need is a heart that is easily touched..haha, well in my case at least. Anyway I wrote this entry because I have been searching high and low for the cheapest Grey's Anatomy season 2 (yes i'm going backward but they said that is the best one!) that I can get hold on of. The cheapest that I got here in Uptown is RM70! And my sister who studies in UTM said she can get it at JB for only RM30 per season! How cool is that! And most of all I am looking for the one that I can play on DVD. My sis has this collection of Grey's Anatomy Season 4 but only playable on PC, I mean I want to watch the show while breastfeeding Husayn, so it is quite impossible to watch it from the PC. Hehe.

If you guys have never watched Grey's Anatomy before, try to watch an episode. I watch most of the episodes in Season 3 with tears in my eyes, the most tears was when Meredith was drowned and watching McDreamy trying to save his girlfriend and the look on his face, wow that was priceless and truly heart breaking!

Anyway do go to this website for more on Grey's anatomy insider or even spoiler! I am not in any way related to the website, it's just that is my source of info for all things Grey's Anatomy.

Lastly wish me luck for my final paper in tomorrow exam!

Exam day is the dreaded day

The Book! Note the colourful tagging! Don't you think the colourful tagging make the books a little bit more appealing? Haha

Tomorrow is the dreaded day! It's the day where I will sit for my Peperiksaan Undang-Undang Kerajaan! I had a hard time studying at home with Husayn kept running over my book with his tolo car, either that or he will be fascinated by the colourful tagging of my book. So instead of taking a study leave today, I opt to study at the office. Haha. I wonder how people with little kids study for their masters or phds. Anyway, I guess this is the life of government servant. I used to work in private companies for 5 years and in my previous companies, it took at most 6 months to be confirmed in the job. And as for government, the confirmation period is between 1 to 3 years! When I first knew it I was stumped! There are like millions of things to go through before you actually are confirmed. There's the BTN, Induction Courses (there are two different induction courses that you have go through!), exams (the exam jabatan and peperiksaan undang2 kerajaan) and lastly the interview. And I used to think that working in government is a breeze through! I still have no idea whether I did pass my induction and btn courses and my exam jabatan. And if I fail (hope not!) I will have to re-sit for the exam again!

Anyway the orders are still open for my Raya cookies and I have sent a few samples through mail for free! So if you want to request the samples, you still can! As for me, I'm off to studying now!

My very first Sogo Preview Sale

Everybody is heading to Sogo preview Sale!

Did you see the pavement? Actually I meant to take pics of ppl lining up to enter Sogo

Did anybody go to KL Sogo Preview Sale yesterday? I did and it was so full of people especially in the kids department. I mean I usually saw that kind of crowd at warehouse sales, but this is my first time witnessing that kind of situation in a department store. Well pardon me, because this is my first KL Sogo Sale, people!

Husayn was left at home with my mother since I am expecting crowds jostling here and there. Husband dropped me and my brother at Sogo around 9 something in the morning as he went off to work. It was Friday and I gueesed a lot of people took special leave to attend this sale, haha! Anyway I went on Friday because I think the crowd will be a whole lot worse on Saturday (which is today!). I brought a shopping list with me and here's how mine look like:

1. Tudung (for Hari Raya)
2. Husayn's baju Melayu
3. Husayn's shirts/pants/ shoes for Raya
4. Mummy's shoes
5. Birthday present for Dad

And guess what, I only managed to buy no 1,2 and 3! By the time I finished paying for Husayn's stuff I was too worn out to go to the ladies department. Even my Dad's birthday present have to be postponed! I actually lined up for nearly one hour! Is the cashier sort of slow or people just bought too many things? Haha..I guess it is a combination of both. Yours truly then walked to Semua House and went to Dir's Gallery and bought some tudungs there. I was so tired and I really want to sit down so I walked back to Pustaka Mu'min and sat at the floor of the shop as I browsed their books. Husband picked us up around 2.30 pm and I guess there will be another shopping trip to One Utama to buy moi shoes.Hehe.

And lastly presenting...Husayn's new shoes!

Let's go shopping at Sogo Preview Sale!

Armed yourself with this card and you are ready to go!

Have you done your Hari Raya shopping yet? Yes, I know it is only the 4th day of puasa but it is never too early to shop for Hari Raya. I am so so excited to attend this Sogo Preview Sale which should be held tomorrow (5 September) until Saturday (6 September), which means you have two days to shop till you drop! I even applied for leave tomorrow so I can go to Sogo early in the morning and hopefully sneak pass by the crowd, which I think everyone also has that very same idea! Haha. As for the Sogo card, I just applied for the card last Saturday just to attend this sale with Husband. I found out about this Sogo Preview Sale from my office mate last week and I told Husband that I really want to go to this one and I even dragged him to go together with me! So, in the end we applied for the Sogo card so we can go together tomorrow. Hihihi. I hope I will get to buy what am I aiming to buy (yes I have a shopping check list!) and hopefully we can arrive there as early as possible!

So people, let's go to Sogo tomorrow (I bet Saturday will be more full of people than tomorrow, kan?) and shop for Hari Raya !

Salam Ramadhan to all my fellow Muslims out there! It is the 2nd day of Ramadhan and I have never felt better! I just could not believe how time really flew by though. So what is the difference between my last Ramadhan and this year's Ramadhan? Here are some of it:

1. New employer
I used to work as a designer at Damansara Utama, a private company dealing with IT and herbs. One year went by and I am 9 months at my new job in government sector. The pros of working at private company, during Ramadhan I can come at 9am and still go back at 4.30pm since their regulations are not that strict. But here at my current office, I have to come at 8am to be eligible to go back at 5pm. Oh the torture!

Husayn seen here with Husband, shopping during last Ramadhan at Ikano

2. Husayn is going 15 months!
Last year Husayn was still a baby when he had his first Ramadhan. I was still exclusively breastfeeding him at the time and he was this bulat baby but somehow at 15 months all thos bulat-ness seemed to disappear. I wonder why. Haha. Maybe because he is really an active toddler that all the lemak seems to fade away. But Husayn last year and Husayn this year has one thing in common. He will cry endlessly everytime I perform my Terawih prayer. You see, since having Husayn, my mother and I have been performing our Terawih at home. And Husayn is usually wide awake during the Terawih.

Last year he will roll over his body and cried like he has been whipped in the butt that I am sure the whole taman will hear his voice. This year is no difference, maybe even worse. Since he can walk and move around freely, everytime I start my prayer he will cry and shout "Mama!" over and over. And everytime I sujud, he will climb on top of me and bite on my back while crying. The funny thing is even when he cried he will said "Allahuakbar" and keep mumbling whatever that he knows such as dog, cat, nenen and even his own name which he called Mamat Jaja (fyi, his full name is Mohammed Husayn Zharief) !

3. A Great loss
The most astounding difference this Ramadhan is I lost a cousin of mine a few months ago due to cancer. I still could not believe that he is gone, I mean he is only 22! By the time he found out that the frequent stomach ache that he usually suffer is not ordinary, it is actually a cancer, it was too late. The cancer spread so quickly that he passed away one month after he found out about his cancer. He died on his graduation day which makes it even more sad. I remember going to his house last year at Alor Setar on the last day of Ramadhan and giving him duit raya and asked him to passed the duit raya to his other siblings too. I remember him waving goodbye as Husband, Husayn and I made our way back to Husband's hometown in Taiping. And I still cannot believe that was his final goodbye to us. Alfatihah to Abang Long. We all missed you very much.

I hope you all have a blessed Ramadhan and do not forget to perform your Terawih Prayer! Let's take this opportunity to be a better person and Muslim during this Ramadhan. Insya Allah we will be granted with happiness and bliss in this life and the hereafter.

Selamat Hari Kebangsaan & Selamat Berpuasa!

The Jalur Gemilang is flying high!

If you think this site look a little bit different, don't worry it's not your browser's fault. It is my fault! I tweaked here and there and accidentally overwrite my previous theme! I have to download it all over again so you will see that this time it will look the same like the previous one but some things are still missing or maybe the font colours are a little bit different. I tried to make it similar as possible, so please excuse me for some changes. Anyway if you did not realise the difference then I guess that is good too! Haha. Anyway alhamdulillah everything is returning to normal and I hope it will remain normal.

Anyway today is National Day and to all my Malaysian readers, I shout to you Merdeka! And the fasting month should be tomorrow and don't forget to sahur and perform your terawih prayer!
